Singapore Expats

Looking at the post with Borat are these deals happening, I met a chap who told me he got 16,000 dollars here in Singapore and a further 15,000 at home as well as a list of other perks....... It seems fairly outrageous to me, is this an example of the fat packages expats are supposed to be getting...... I thought I was doing ok but ce la vie I did sign the contract can't complain

It's rare nowadays for people to be on those mega-deals, of course it can still happen but you'd have to be very senior in your company to get that kind of thing, I'd wager that over 95% of expats in Singapore (and HK for that matter) are not on those kind of deals and are just getting local salaries which are pretty good now anyway compared to the west due to the low tax and strength of the Singapore dollar.

I wouldn't take Borat's posts seriously, the kind of figures he was talking about he'd be more likely to get in Vietnamese Dong than Singapore dollars
