PR for New born in Singapore

Hi all,
My husband is SPR since 2009 and i am holding an EP from July2010. We are planning to deliver our kid in Singapore in the month of October2011. Can you anybody advice us what would be the residential status given to my baby. I have applied my Spouse PR in July 2011 and waiting for the result.

Hi,
U can choose ur child to be SPR or on long term social visit pass. LTSVP has to be renewed annually.
We had baby recently and chose social visit pass for him. We both r SPR.

It will be interesting to see, when it's time to renew your re-entry permit, if they give you a one-year instead of 5 years one. There's been a number of incidences of this happening already on REP renewal when there has been families with male children who the PR parents have opted to put them on LTVP's instead of PR with the obvious attempt to circumvent doing NS.
Let us know, if you don't convert your son to PR, how your REP renewal goes.
