Looks like it's getting out of hand now.
Violence broke out on Saturday evening in Tottenham and now it's spread throughout London to sevaral different places.
35 Police officers have been injured and some still receiveng treatment in hospital. People have lost their homes and a number of stores have been looted. One lady recalls a number of youths rolling out of a carpet store laughing with rugs thrown over their backs.
The problems have obviously been ongoing for sometime but it seems a lot of people have come to these place just to cause trouble.

A lot of the perpetrators are from ethnic minorities hence the police can do nothing.


(A lot of the victims are too, but that seems to count less)

Don't you just love it though.... the police kill a gangbanger that was shooting at the police (hitting one in his radio) and it's the gangbangers that get upset

I have a strange feeling this is what comes by playing the 'human rights' cards in schools and not allowing the teachers to even shout at disobedient kids for fear of making them feel 'unworthy'



On a side note, it takes the fulfilling of about 38 seperate H&S requirements for police to start a pursuit (high speed chase, though difficult in the obligatory Astra Diesel) so you can imagine the requirements that had to be fulfilled just for the police to get out his weapon, let alone fire it at somebody.

They're still doing ballistic tests, there is a rumour that it is a police bullet.

Have to say it is thoroughly demoralizing how people take advantage of unrest to fulfill nothing more than greed and opportunism....

Theres a very thin line between civility and base animal tendencies, much thinner than anyone likes to admit...

But if there is a small slither of civil light its the hundred of people that turned up in London today with brooms in hand to clean up the mess left by others...

Got a lot of admiration for them (so long as they won't be the same people donning balaclavas tonight )

Either way, any need to do a ballistics test only indicates that it might as well have been the 'victim' and sorry, but if you carry a gun then the result may be that you die. Thems the breaks.

It is sad to see London (and now elsewhere...) going up in smoke..

3 a count of three dead now, 1 shot on Sunday in Croydon has died and two were killed in a hit and run last night in Birmingham.

Amongst the millions of pounds worth of damage this is by far the worst thing, for 3 people (seemingly innocent?) to lose their lives!

What a dreadful state of affairs, I feel concern for my friends and family in the areas that are affected. Looks like there will be some big games of baseball going on soon though.
