Singapore Expats

Hi there, I'm an Australian looking for some help. To cut a long story short, here are the facts -

- I have 6 years of corporate sales experience within globally recognized companies

- I have no University Degree

- I obtained extremely high levels within my school education

- My salary bracket is between 4000-5000 fixed p/m in Singapore plus bonus

- I have had 2 EPs rejected from job offers with leading companies which fit my work experience perfectly.

Here is my question - what are my chances of getting an S Pass? Each time I have used the 'Online Self-Assesment' tool I have been successful. Will the MOM be able to see past the fact I do not hold a university degree or diploma?

Mid-level skilled foreigners (e.g. technicians) who wish to work in Singapore may apply for an S Pass. Applicants will be assessed on a points system, taking into account multiple criteria. S Pass applicants accumulate points based on how far they meet the criteria. As a general guide, these criteria can be broadly described as (for illustrative purposes only):

A minimum fixed monthly salary of $2,000
Educational qualifications
A degree, diploma
Technical certificates can be considered. These are, very broadly, courses that train the applicant to be a qualified technician or specialist in their chosen field. The certification should comprise of at least one year of full-time study.
Type of job (e.g. professional, specialist or technician)
Number of years of relevant work experience

My 2 cents says ... from past experience, MOM (MINISTRY OF MANPOWER in case OP is wondering who is his MOM)

Don't approve sales positions for foreigners easily, unless heavily paid, or your employer has got approval for EDB/IE singapore for exemption as Trading organisation ...

As, a general rule, the idea is, sales/admin and such jobs should go to locals, unless you can prove you are getting paid much more than what you mentioned.

Even 10 years ago too such rule was in place, and most sales guys were actually recruited, but pass was applied and approved as 'engineering' .. though the guys too did have engineering degree in any case, so MOM didn't generally bother ..

Such a practice is not possible nowadays, and any large decent MNC will not submit such pass approval ...
