I assume you're referring to iPhone 5 here. These 2 phones offer extensively vary features, so it really depends on what you want. Personally, I would get Galaxy S2 since it's Android phone, most apps are free, display is better on 4.3 inch amoled; iPhone 5 has not come yet anyway. But, if you have been an avid Apple fan, then you should stick to iPhone.

i'm not an avid apple supporter though i'm using an iphone now... thinking of switching to samsung s2. the battery life of iphone is really horrible and i don't like the fact that all my data are dependent on itunes!
at least samsung has an external memory and removable/changeable battery!
i think i'm leaning towards the samsung phone? any bad reviews about it?

Have you tried googling "galaxy s2 reviews"? It's all over the web if you looked.

Why the hell would one buy a phone just on resale value alone?
(
Don't answer that. Rhetorical question.)

I'm actually more torn between the Samsung GS2 and waiting for the Nokia N9 on Meego. The N9 is supposed to be able to run Android apps, should be available in a few weeks AND have turn-by-turn GPS navigation built in.
I know Google Maps on Android is useful but when driving the turn-by-turn voice commands are already worth a lot.

I keep my phones so long, when I buy one I consider collector's value

Here's the breakdown
Processor:
iphone 4 : 1.0 Ghz
Galaxy S : 1.2 Ghz dual core
Camera:
ip4: front VGA

back: 5 mp
gs2: front 2 Mp back 8 MP
s2 has a larger size screen, on a side by side comparison the s2 looks more bright, i almost thought it was a sticker on the screen!
s2 is slimmer
s2 has expandable memory, where ip4 you are stuck!
S2 gives more bang for the buck imho
If you want the iphone specific apps/games, then theres no other option.
I'd say galaxt s2 !
i would vote for iphone

I guess my dopod 900 should have some collector's value as it's still working after almost 6 years. I'm in the process of retiring it (when I get used to this new Galaxy Tab).

IPHONE FTW.
Just wait for the iPhone 5 to launch, event launch should be in a couple of days.
