UK style crispy duck ?

Any idea where in Singapore one could find UK style crispy duck ? The local version is served with skin & fat in a mini-omlette, then they take the duck away and strip the meat and stir-fry it. What I'm looking for is the UK style where they serve it with small "popiah skin" type pancakes in a steamer basket and you spread Hoi-Sin sauce + duck meat + cucumber + spring onion then roll into a tube. I'm guessing that the UK style is derived from the Cantonese version since most UK chinese restaurants are run by Hong Kong expats. Or maybe it's one of those Anglicised dishes that don't exist anywhere else except the UK , like Chicken Tikka Massalla ? Anyway, I have been looking for nearly 2 years now and have yet to locate it !

I believe you're describing Peking duck! See the link below for the wikipedia description:

You can find Peking duck in many restaurants in Singapore. Just google Peking duck + Singapore.

Yes as described, that's deffo Peking duck.
You need to go to a 'proper' (ie respectable) Chinese restaurant to find it, you'll never find it in a food court or hawker centre.

I think you can get it in Lau Pau Sat if you dont want to go to a restaurant.

Lau Pau Sat = posh nosh to me
Seriously though, I didn't know they did it down there, I'm surprised...
edit to add:
I had Peking duck in SG only once in 1994, and can't say I've seen it elsewhere. Whereas in London I lived 5 minutes stroll from Queensway, a street lined with restaurants that serve it. hmmm!

Yes, I have seen lots of Peking Duck here but it is not the same as the UK !!!
Here it is always served with pancakes that resemble mini omlettes, not thin flat dough type pancakes that you get in the UK. Totally different texture and taste.
Also as described before the staff will slice off the skin & fat and wrap that with the omlette then take away the rest of the duck to be stir fried.
If you believe that you have been served UK style Peking Duck here please tell me which restaurant because I have tried at least 20, all of which serve it as the "local" style described above.

My mind might be playing tricks on me , but I think there is a stall in Lau Pau Sat on the same "Street" as the Cheers corner shop.

I wouldn't have a clue where I had it the first time, but I've just remembered that I did have it again about 2 years ago here

But I also recall that the skin was so fatty, that some of the duck rolls you made ended up being 50% fat, which was pretty unpleasant. Maybe we were just unlucky.
Don't understand the idea of serving it eggs. I'd have thought the duck was rich enough on it's own without stir-frying it and adding omelette's to the equation.

Was at the Yu Cusine at Marina Bay Sands and they have the Peking duck and pancakes you are looking for. As well as the plum sauce, cucumber & spring onion.

Go to Hua Yew Wee (I still think this name sounds like "How you wee" which is hilarious) Anyway, it's a really nice restaurant, nothing fancy in terms of decor but the food is good! They do whole peking duck and they also do good crab!

That's Shao La - it does Crispy Pork (odd that, given the name) as well as duck, bbq pork and a range of noodle/won-ton soups. I've never seen them do a peking duck with pancakes though - I'll check tonight and report back.
My Singaporean colleague tells me that crispy duck is supposed to be served just as the skin, and the duck meat is used for a separate dish. Which may explain why it's so hard to find here.

OK, so I checked out the place in Lau Pa Sat tonight, it's called Shao La and it's immediately next to the Cheers store. It has crispy duck on the menu, although there's no description of how it comes served and there was no-one behind the counter to ask. None of the pictures depict the variety we're discussing here.
I can testify that their other food is very good though - I've had most of the other things on the menu. Avoid it if there's a bald guy serving, as he always gives the smallest portions.
