Singapore Expats

I went to see two properties yesterday at the Bayshore and one was facing the wrong way so my agent told me it will be very hot! Typical, it is the one I really like and I found it warm but not uncomfortable. BUT this is not the summertime so I assume it will get warmer.

Has anyone made the same choice and lived to regret it?

Also they are about to knock down a small complex near the Bayshore and start again and my agent seemed more concerned about the eyesore rather than the noise!! Any experiences on this sort of thing is a huge help so please let me know your thoughts!

There is no "summertime" here. It's the tropics. It's hot all the time. The only difference is some times are "wetter" than others. Average temperature here is 89° F (32° C) year 'round. It might vary by 2°C +/- but that's all.

And there's also construction and noise everywhere and all the time. You can't escape it, other than by leaving the country!

The construction is just temporary. I think you should be more concern on any social issues that might be created by the workers there if their dormitory is also right at the site itself.

There are no 4 seasons in Singapore. However, Apr to Jul tends to be warmer for whatever reasons.

Most people do not like units that are west facing in Singapore. After facing the full brunt of the glaring sun the entire day, the apartment may be hot and stuffy in the evening when you are back for work. This may not matter much if you are an air-con person.

i love morning sun! but evening sun is a no no!
