Which internet/cable provider do you use for a stay up to a

I've been searching through the forums but cant find much of an answer, especially when the service providers seem to have a new promotion every other week here. I just started working here in Suntec and am on a 1-year contract in Singapore. Given the fact that a pint costs me $15 and I find myself reaching for my wallet literally everywhere I go, not sure if I am going to last much longer than that.
What internet provider would offer the best rates for a 1-year or month to month contract? An all inclusive package would be best, but TV channels aren't too important, just somethign to fall asleep to other than the one Chinese channel I get would be nice. At Singtel, they had a package offering calbe, internet, and home line for $50 with a 2 year, and that price went up to $75 if the contract was anyless. Needless to say, this is for 6mps, which I'm sure means in actuallity it is deathly slow.
So, for anyone that has not signed a 2-year contract, which provider would you recommend and what is a ball-park monthly price to expect?

About the only thing you can do it visit the three major ISP's and browse their promotions and whack 'em on a spreadsheet and then make your choice. The following week there will be a different promotion. Tis the nature of the beast here.

Well, all the providers are pretty much the same and charge you similar amounts. The 24 month contracts are "reasonable," however I can only gaurentee a year and am not risking having to cancel instead of transfer it.
From what I've been looking at, i can get a 6mps plan on starhub for ~SGD 35 sgd/month, plus a 25% charge given that my plan is month to month (~43/month). For cable, I get to pick 3 groups of crap channels for SGD 27 a month, so 35 dollars month to month. Not that I really watch TV, but i like to sleep to something other than the "one" chinese channel I have now, and I figure the internet speed is far too slow for streaming.
So, sounds like just a basic TV+ internet plan will run me about 78 SGD per month. Does this sound about right? Back home was about this but 10 times the channels AND connection speed. The reason I am thinking starhub is because they will give me all i need right here in suntec- I dont need to wait "at least 1 week" to have a rep come and plug a cord in like singtel...

BTW, for singtel, the "mio home" pack is priced at 50/month with a 24 year lease, and the rep told me it was an extra $30 for month/month. So, 80/month and the channels are only "family" channels- but- you get a home phone too. Doesnt sound like the home phone is necessary (ill be using skype, given i have the bandwidth) and I dont see myself making over 100 minutes of local calls.
M1 is for the ballers, 50mbs and over 100-150 haha

If you consider yourself a "power user" (e.g., you may want static IPs, or know why you would want them, want to use your own router, etc, among other things) do NOT use Singtel MIO.

With Starhub you can choose MaxOnline Permium 50Mbps. The 24 months contract goes for 56.92 SGD per month, the 12 months contract is only about 4 bucks more, 61 SGD.
