Lovin' the Asian and hawker food yet want to know where to go to get the best burger and fries where there is a nice porter, stout or amber ale (brewpub-type yumminess). Let me know if you care to join me on the burger crusade!

Although not what one would expect...the hawker-esque place called Der Berg had a GREAT burger!

We were there over the weekend. Great service. Burgers come with fries! Drinks gals comes around and you order your beer! Good eats!

I walked past this place called Fatboys Burgar Bar at Joo Chiat Road the other day. Anyone tried out this place yet?

I've tried Fat Boys. They're alright, worth a try but I'm not sure if it's a place you'll frequent.

the best places i've found are dallas at boat quay and bergs at far east square

The burger shack for more budget burgers (but delicious!- owned by Island Creamery group) or the Swiss Butchery - both along Bukit Timah Road- beside Coronation Plaza. The latter is still the best- juicy patties with gourmet cuts of chucked beef that you can sink your teeth into, and lovely toppings like a fried egg, cheese and mushrooms or bacon. Delicious...
The handburger is not bad too, but only the Caeser chicken burger or the Whole WORKS beef burger is worth a shot, going to check out the other burger places mentioned in this thread too!

Bobby's at Chijmes, Boomerang at Robertson Quay and The Bank at One Shenton all do good burgers.

I shared a burger with one of my kids at the new TGI's at Katong mall down Joo Chiat last night - it was really greasy but strangely delicious - I was glad we shared it rather than had the whole thing, I think I would have felt a bit too lardy if I'd had one to myself.

A better TGI's than the one at the Heeren too - nicer atmosphere.

some good recommendations there, no harm trying when i hit sg next...

Roadhouse restaurant at Dempsey does amazing burgers with their Josper grill that beautifully chars the outside and keeps the insides succulent, medium-well and flavoursome.

I tried Fatboys at Upper Thomson and it was only okay. I'm still on the hunt for good chips here as well
