Where?
I have managed to sort out the balance in my skin by using a water spritzer (big bottle of distilled water from guardian for a dollar / two) regularly and no creams.

Check your lotion. It may contain mineral oil. Mineral oil is a cheap filler and all it does block your pores from getting the good ingredients in the lotion. It may have worked well for years but as you age, you may not be getting the moisturizers that you need.

I am using loreal moisturiser, I used Rose water spritzer as well..but I don't like putting moisturiser all the day. One good news Is since I started using flax seeds my skin starts glowing and dryness is going gradually

You can try taking fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants and phytochemicals...as those will allow your skin to produce more collagen on your own, then your skin will automatically become more moisturizing and supple!! i can recommend you which fruits and vegetables to take more in your daily meals.

Depends on which part of the body, is it just the face or the limbs or the entire body?
If it is something mild, using suitable creams and exfoliators will help. I personally use Rosken on my body and it really works. Using apricot or olive-based exfoliators are great for dry skin but be gentle. It is a little bit tricky for the face though.
But if it is something more than that, better consult a dermatologist.

i always use this lanolin creme from new zealand..
lanolin creme :
An ultimate skin treatment. Enriched with nature’s moisturising lanolin, healing vitamin E and soothing aloe vera gel, which helps nourish and care for your skin, keeping skin smooth and supple.
Lanolin has been known for many years to be beneficial to the skin with its natural moisturising qualities.
It helps to create an effective barrier to keep the skin from drying out and cracking. Combined with oils and urea it provides a ‘protective layer’ to prevent skin being leached of moisture and oils by the harsh elements of everyday life such as pollution, solvents, dry air and so on.
Vitamin E is valued for its moisturising and healing properties and complements the well known healing qualities of aloe vera gel, which comes from the leaf of the aloe vera cactus.
Lanolin Crème is suitable for use on the face or body.

My skin is mixed, the cheek is very dry, especially in the winter. Perhaps you also use Cetaphil cleanser and Hada Labo moisturizing which are used by myself. They are very effect, and they can improve your skin condition. Maybe you can have try.

For my skin I use something like an "insider's tip" from Swityerland. The product is called Dermaglycin and a friend of mine recommendet it.I think it's a small label in Switzerland so you have to look in the internet for the product. But I can help you to order it, just if you like.

I use it every day because I have always problems with dry skin and it's quite effective.

Dry skin on your face or body?
For face, use a thick moisturizing cream, not gel, after washing your face.
For body, use body lotion such as cocoa butter and apply all over body within 3 mins after you've showered.
