I feel like this topic must have been covered here, but I can't seem to find it. I'm looking to buy latches, etc to put on cupboards and drawers so my son won't get into it. Any advice on where to buy? I've looked at IKEA and a couple other stores like Giant and Carrefour and Mothercare and have come up empty handed.

I did not see it in Ikea (they've got only the corners and power socket protectors) but Mothercare I am pretty sure has them or had not so long time ago - I vaguely remember seeing them in the outlet in Harborfront Centre so close to your location IIRC. Another place to check would be Motherswork.

Latches for cupboards are also available in Home-Fix. However, I must say they are not the best ones. The glue leaves stains and some kids can easily spoil them, if they are strong enough.
Sometimes ToysRus carry safety items.

You can buy the Safety First cupboard latches from Isetan and Carrefour but the drawer ones either have to be sticky or screw on.

you can a range of latches (mostly the plastic stick on type ) at kiddy palace. Not all the outlets carry the entire range. have found stocks mostly at the toa payoh outlet and the nex outlet @ serangoon mall.
we have an active toddler in the house who pulls at things and after using the latches over the past few months have found that the glue does not hold that well and also the plastic straps that hold the locks together tend to break.
Time to buy more latches

We never had latches, just told the kids to get out the cupboards, mind you bleach etc used to have a childproof top in the UK, not so anymore....
I would be an advocate for the "no latches" approach.

The sticky ones that I bought from kiddy palace was quite good. I used to have bought some japanese ones from Liang Court few years back can't remember the name and it was ridiculously difficult to remove them! Latch removal FAIL!
