Guys, I just saw the saddest thing. A poor dog was abandoned, terribly scared and shivering with fear, and a dog catcher came with one of those sticks with a rope and put it around his neck and dragged the poor thing into a cage.

The dog catcher was from the SPCA, so I presume the dog is there now. He was a medium sized male, brown, looked around 3 or 4 years old, and healthy but absulutely terrified. I think he would make a good pet.

Is there anyone out there who could please take him. The look in his eyes was just heartbreaking.

The location was outside the Tiong Bahru Market building, time approximately 5pm, Monday 26 December 2012.

I took a few photos, and would like to post these up as it might help the poor guys be saved. Can someone tell me how to post up photos?

Please, if you are looking to adopt a dog, try calling the SPCA and take this one. I think they put dogs like this down quite quickly if no home is found for them [/img]

We can't take a dog, it's against our lease here.

I would love to take him, but I have not yet moved here. I am here now apartment for next year. I also travel frequently.

I can offer to walk him and visit him if someone does take him.

I posted this in the hope that some one out there might just be looking, and would consider him. The look in his eyes....

You need to host the picture somewhere on the web (photobucket is free and quote good for this purpose) then you link to that picture (photobucket provides the link you need to paste into the reply) that's it!

By pure coincidence, this is the puppy of the type of dog that was abandoned and now needs a home.

The one in Singapore is the adult version of this I think.

If that is the case, the dog has already probably been put down. It's what is know as a pariah dog. These are long ago abandoned dogs of several generation and are semi-wild. Although they do make good pets if gotten when still puppies. Singapore has thousands of them in the wilds especially around industrial estates and state lands/woodlands. Some of them stay in packs and can get a bit troublesome as well. We used to have two of them 25 odd years ago when we lived in Seletar Camp at the end of Jalan Kayu (on the military base) lot's of 'em there as well. Both were pups when we got 'em and they were good devoted dogs, but because there are not "breeds" Singaporeans won't have 'em. They rather buy "branded" dogs that they later give to the SPCA when they are no longer puppies and the realization there is a lot more to owning a dogs than they thought. Sad but true.

The dog was definately no a wild one. It looked well fed, and like it had been a pet.

The good news is that I confirmed with the SPCA that they have it. They will spend the next few days advertising it as a lost dog. They have assured me they will not kill it and that they will contact me if they cannot rehome it.

A final plea guys. The dog has until Monday apparently. The abandoned pet facilities in Singapore are of course very crowded, so I think the dog may be put down unless someone takes him.

I know its a long-shot, but if anyone wants a potentially great animal friend, and has the patience and time to mend his broken heart, please do let me know ASAP.

To be honest, I don't agree with having dogs in condos, I certainly don't agree with having dogs in cages, Dogs should be kept in a yard and walked outside, they shoudl not enter the house.

Just my opinion... That's why even if I was allowed a dog, I wouldn't have one in Singapore.

I lost my dog when I moved to Singapore.
It was a long flight from Switzerland and he could not take the journey.
I flew the same flight as him but when we landed, he was in bad shape and passed away a few hours after landing.
It remains one of the most traumatic moments in my life.

I am dying to get a dog but considering I have been moving countries every 02 years, I am hesitant. I dont want to put another dog through the same trauma and end up losing him/her.

So i am holding off.....once I have finally settled in a place for good, I will then get myself a dog.....

Wish I could help this dog....but cannot.
Hate to be someone who adopts a dog but then gives them up once he moves which is what will happen in this instance...sorry
