Singapore Expats

I am moving to Singapore from the UK shortly with my wife and son who will be 13 months old. What brands of formula milk are sold in Singapore and which are recommended?

The only brand that I think you can buy both in the UK and here is Hipp Organic - not cheap though. I gave my baby the Nestle Nan Pro range but after 12 months you are now OK to move on to cows milk.

A lot of my friends went the organic route and gave their babies either Hipp or Bellamys.

We put ours on to cow milk at 1 too, but, a lot of kids here have formula until they are fairly old (3 + I think) which is the follow on stuff, it's neither right or wrong, just difference of opinion.

However, the issue with cow milk over here, is there are none that taste like milk in the UK, apparently they are made to taste sweet like mum's milk, it simply makes them taste aweful for our UK palates. We have found one brand we are fairly happy with and the kids will drink, Greefields, it's becoming more widely available now. The kids refused to drink the local stuff!

The only brand of milk I've found that tastes like milk in the UK is Meiji. It took me ages to find a semi skimmed equivalent that didn't taste like water/skimmed milk. The other brands of "non or low fat" seem to taste like skimmed milk rather semi skimmed.
