Singapore Expats

We are moving to Spore in March and want to live in an area which has a large Indian family community. Which is better - East (D15) or River Valley? We have looked at and liked condos in both areas... please mention why one is better than the other. Suggestions are most welcome!

You would be better off moving to Woodlands/Marsiling. Plenty of Indians there. In fact, so many, that lots of Singaporean don't want to move out there because of 'em!

No no no.... I would strongly recommend Sungei Road or Tekka Area ala Serangoon

Yes- of course. Serangoon road is the famous Little India !

But we dont want to be in a completley Indian area as well - which is why we were looking at River Valley, etc - should be a healthy mix, no?

River Valley oso can. Got plenty of expats.

Typical .... come from India to Singapore and eat Indian, talk Indian, stay Indian ... refusing to mix with other races or learn the culture of other races (or in the case of this OP, have majority Indians at least around). It's no wonder they are so arrogant!. You might as well be better off staying put in India.

I would not consider River Valley as having a large "Indian Family community". It seems more expats and (I cringe at using the word) Yuppies; the indians I have met are more the California type and less the India type.

Actually, SMS will agree with me on this .. Serangoon Road is pretty long, and it depends where about in Serangoon road you are talking of

Until the PIE Flyover / Moonstone lane area, it is still Serangoon road

And, Serangoon is far away from Little India .. (hence the excuse of drivers for their getting lost when you ask them to go to Serangoon - they head to Serangoon Road and vice versa ... )

I am moving to Singapore in first week of Feb.2020 and my workplace will be Sofitel Sentosa. Would you kindly suggest nearby residential condos within my budget of SG$ 2200-2800 (should not be very far from my work), preferably on metro line. Suggestions are most welcome!
