Good evening everyone..

I will need help from you guys. I am planning to do a proposal (with video clip) to my gf at a restaurant. Thus, am seeking high and low for romantic restaurant with a big screen where i can play the clip and do the proposal. Hope you guys can share with me any places you know of that fulfills the requirements.

I must admit, most places that have a big screen are not romantic, also, if it's a romantic restaurant, they probably don't want you to put up a projector and screen of your own!

How about hiring a cinema like a Gold Class screening of something somewhere?

And having said that, almost any place can do it .. nowadays all it needs is a projector, and for a small fee, it can be rented, and placed voila, you are good to go ..




nutnut: Including the "Thai" place, anyone can do it NOW ..

Zofia's in Dunlop Street Little India comes to mind. Its not really a restaurant, but nice ambiance and a projector etc that they show movies with.

Picotin, Turf City has a large screen and projector which they use. Great pizza as well !

What is the video going to be, a Barry White song? A film of loveable labrador puppies frolicking around? A slideshow of photos of you two?

Do yourself a favour and forget about that. The old way is the best way. Take her somewhere nice, and get down on one knee and propose like a man.

This is Singapore JR8! It would probably be more like her getting down on her knee (no not knees!) and proposing to him. The girls here have more cojones that the guys do. That's why they are always whining when in NS that the "Girls will get ahead of us in the business world". He probably wants to do it by video as he doesn't have the cojones himself to cowboy up to the task.

I read it the same way. He wants the video to speak for him.

That's why I was suggesting he be a man and do it properly. That single minute will never be forgotten, short of combat experience that minute is as close to cacking yourself as most guys will get. The OP is not up to it.

Aiyoh .. you guys are making it so boring and taking the romance out of the equation ..

having attended three proposal functions here (if you can call them .. ) before the proposal, a lot is planned, like CPF balance, waiting period for house, cash-in-hand etc.. and when things look okay they engage an event organiser ..

who, while there is a gathering of friends and family, suddenly the projector comes alive and a video of the 'early days of romance' and the 'holidays shared together' and all is played and then at the magical moment .. the video goes silent and the guy goes on his knees and says .. "will you marry me .. " or something like that ..

SMS: you say Indian marriages are so ceremonial ? while not close I have sat through the above 'proposals' along with a group of friends .. all acting like we were for a party hosted by friends .. and the bride is supposed to act like it is a surprise ..

And once the proposal is done, next thing, ROM and then wait and wait for the house to be allocated and then "WEDDING" is planned...

A 'proposal function'? Blow me how incredibly gay. Does granny turn up with a home-test fertility kit too (you know why not, all in the family now, lie back it'll only take 10 seconds!).

What you describe sounds about as romantic as taking a $hit in the bath.

You are right abt the conventional way of proposal being the best way. But I will like to put in more effort in showing greater sincerity. So i have made a clip. Its not a showing of photos but rather an appreciation of what she has done for me and etc...

Can you send us a link, so we too can appreciate it?

Guys, I will still be going down on my knees and make the proposal. The video is prelude.
