Singapore Expats

I had applied for Singapore PR about a month ago and just received a letter from ICA asking me to submit details of my parents and in-laws. Is this good or bad ? At least, it looks like they are looking into my case currently. Any recent trends in PR approvals for Indians ?

They are probably looking at how much collateral damage they could possibly sustain if your & your wife are given PR, e.g., extended family. They would have to weigh the benefits you bring against the negatives you could inflict (demographically). Nobody really knows except that the gahmen love to collect data to use against the population in the future.

Anybody who's been on this board answering the same basic questions for masters holders who want to be hand-held throughout their whole indoctrination here rather than do a wee bit of research on their own, will probably be mad as a hatter after about one year. Those of us with longer than that are definitely mad e.g., crazy!

To OP: I hear that it is very normal that they will ask for further info for PR applications. To put it in one way, they are looking more closely into your applications and they want to know more about you (and your family, since they asked for your parents' particulars)

I have few Indians acquaintances who had ICA asking for such info. But whether it is a factor to their rejection or approval, I don't know, they don't know either, and heck, no one knows...

Just provide the info they need and cross your fingers - and your toes.

I don't understand why the OP is so Angry, since a search of his previous posts seem to indicate he's well on his way in his attempt to PR-for-financial-gain. It's every other one of his citizens who have already been denied that should be Angry, at him.

Just checked the slot availability for PR appointment. The next available slot is 14th May.

I remember last year you could get a slot in 2 weeks time. So either lot of people are applying for PR now or ICA have cut down their staff.

According to some of my friends now ICA have become relatively liberal in terms of giving out PRs, including Indian applicants.

The IRAS NoA comes out around june isn't it? I am considering might as well wait until june and have 3 NoAs under my belt and then apply for PR.

Why would knowing the other posters particulars give you a head start? That doesn't make any sense at all, frankly. You and the other poster are two different people with different backgrounds, families, education and looks. What goes into the application? Only your own info. Nobody else, so what does it matter. You will be judged only on your particulars. Based on his background are you planning on putting something different on the application that isn't true?

'coz, all that we have in here are view's / opinions of diff people & in reality, its not any of us who decide , ofcourse its ICA's decision.

So how would this thread starter asking for "trends of indians getting PR" / other threads in forum asking for similar things make sense, frankly
