The Euro 2012 discussion...

Ok, the Euro is now within reach...
I have been here only a few months, so it is the first competition I will have to watch within this time zone... are there any places showing the games at those late/early hours? Already the group games or only the later top ones? Any football fans out there interested to watch the games in a bar?
I know a couple of places that show normally the top premier leagues games or Asian competitions, but I wonder which bar will show the group games as they are probably not that interesting for locals - in the middle of the night on a weekday...

Nobody? I guess that means "no, nobody is stupid enough to watch football at 4 am, let alone outside of ones' living room"... time to get that sport package on starhub I guess.

Unfortunately both Singtel and Starhub are charging between $3k and $4k (depend on screen size) for commercial to screen the Euro 2012, and that's just for the first TV set! With thw earliest games starting at midnight it just isn't financially viable for bars to have the games on.

It's just that nobody is answering them here Chris...(I was looking for Archery in the ELS corner when I saw this just now...)
Actually, yes I'd say for most Singaporeans..."too stupid to watch football at 4 am in the morning in the weekdays, outside of the house", but for those die hard ones, and especially during the weekend, they'll stay up
Currently the best places to gather around I know of is Chijmes, Robertson's Quay, Holland Village. Clarke Quay surprisingly is quite hard to find a good place...
I still haven't decided where to watch it for the Netherlands and Germany's match this Sunday morning...

I'm up for both Netherlands and Germany. Probably gonna go to Beer Market (my friend already asked me to go there, and besides, it's my most favorite place to hang out anyway...lol)

How do they manage to show a game at 19.45 if it starts on 2.30
the next morning...?
I am pretty sure they normally do not open that late... can anyone confirm that they have the games live and are open?

I'm going to watch at the Hollandse Club @ Camden Park. They will screen all matches, and they're open to non-members for the duration of the tournament. Good beer promotions as well!
Two years ago during the World Cup, the atmosphere was great there...

For great atmosphere try the Hollandse Club at 22 Camden Park. They screen all matches on big screen and the drinks are cheap compare to other places.

Lol... seriously? Two accounts only created to push your venue? I know that football fans aren't considered to be the brightest lights - but we are smarter than that...
(And the chance of me watching the games in a Dutch venue is on par with hell freezing over.)

hey hey i'm sorry.. i realized the timings are not sg timezone LOL. sorry bimbo moment. you are right abt the weird mismatch in time.
