AIS sports shoes?

Hi there.
We are starting at AIS in term 3 and the kids are in need of new sports shoes now. Before I spend a small fortune could someone please let me know is the school strict? Are there guidelines at AIS in regards to which shoe is acceptable and not?
At our current school the children are expected to wear a sports shoe that is predominantly white. The kids are begging for glary runners which go against the our current school uniform guidelines.
