4.5k will be tight for a whole family but its doable.
A cheap apartment will set you back about 2-2.5k. Utilities ~ 80-300 (depending on how much you use aircon), Internet & TV 50-100, a full-time nanny ~1,000. Monthly commute ~$50
Then you add food an other necessities.
You do the math...

Ah now we're getting somewhere. Sorry I do not have a child so I can't comment on childcare needs.
However have you factored in your insurance for yourself and family? Usually company will cover your insurance, including your family here in Singapore but you need to check on it first.

Childcare / daycare the range is from $550 to $2285 per month for full day rate. If you consider kindergarten then the range will be cheaper as it's only few hour schooling, start from $150 - $1500.
Don't forget to estimate the uniform, mattress (for daycare) etc.

I've never lived in India, but from what I gather from friends and coworkers who have, you'll do way better in India on 2500sgd than you would in Singapore on even triple that. OF course dependant on call kinds of things though...

Same here. Never lived in India but been travelling to India a few times and, from what I know, I tend to agree.

2500 SGD is a bit above 1 lakh Rs. p.m. in India. While it may vary slightly depending on where you live , that is a very handsome salary and will give you a pretty affluent life style in India.
I'm sorry to say this but (not from personal experience but going by research I've been doing recently) 4500 SGD will NOT get you the same lifestyle , or ever near it , in Singapore.
So , honest answer , no it's not worth it.

Expense can vary, really depends on your life style, basic living for a 3-people family is around 1000+/month (on top of rental) -- just a rule of thumb.

Hi revhappy
I am also in the same situation. Have one offer from Bangalore of 17L & one from Singapore of 84,000. I 've been thinking about all the Pros & cons for last 3-4 days but not able to arrive at any decision.
Do you think, moving to Singapore’ll be a wise decision with this salary; Considering I have 9+ years of IT salary & 'll be moving alone initially. My wife 'll join me in 3-6 mnths after completing her current project. She is in IT with same of years of exp & 'll look for a job in Singapore.
Thanks for your help.
