What to do with a stray cat?

It has appeared at my house. It is very thin. It has snuck in to steal food. I think it was left behind by some sh*ts that moved.
I really don't want to keep the cat, and as a practical matter I'm away too often to handle feeding etc.
What resources are available to get this cat a new home or at least shelter?

You can contact SPCA and they will take the cat, immunise it (if it hasn't done), spay it (if it hasn't been done) and put it up for adoption.
Otherwise you can ask friends if they want to adopt a cat but that would be a lot of trouble because you don't even know if the cat is a former pet or just a stray.

On a second thought, that cat may end up being euthanised there because SPCA is currently having issue with overcrowding (they receive hundreds of animals dumped by $h!t owners too).

Leave it by your favorite HDB. Some 12yr old girl will feed it.

I adopted a pair of brothers there a few years ago. They do good work.

Poor cat.
I recently ended up with a kitten I found in a drain. I hadn't meant to adopt it, but from looking online, it seems that most strays are put down, simply because there are too many to cope with.
The Cat Welfare society are asking very kind people to catch, spay and return strays to where they are found (with a bit of their ear cut off to identify them as neutered). This is a bit of a big ask, as catching wild cats can be tricky, since they tend to object to this
also, the cost of spaying is aprox $150.
So, not an easy situation - wishing you well with your decision.

If you could get it over to Toa Payoh Lorong 2 it would be fine.
There is a guy who wheels a trolly full of cat food into the park area outside our block and feeds the strays (and probably some cared for cats too!) on a daily basis. I have seen 20 or so cats appear when he turns up each day.
