Most TV sucks big time, but there are still a few shows entertaining enough to justify the time to watch them.

Right now, I only watch the following shows:

Game of Thrones (premium channel, on hiatus)
Person of Interest (free)
Dexter (premium)
Homeland (premium)

The ones on the Premium channels require me to uhm... Watch them online. I convert those with Handbrake and use AppleTV to watch it in my living room. Person of Interest, while free in the US, is only on a premium channel here, so I do the same.

Ah yes....http://theoatmeal.com/comics/game_of_thrones
But replace "Game of Thrones" with whatever you're willing to pay for but it's either unavailable or it is but bundled with something else making it prohibitively expensive. People saying it's illegal will NOT stop it from happening.

Hmmm...I'd agree that American (or any other pretty much) TV sucks, but there are quite a few good series, past and present. I agree with some of those listed, and there are a lot more. Boss, Breaking Bad, SoA, Boston Legal, etc. come to mind, and there are a lot more A and B level series worth watching.

What is nice is to watch them without the commercials and station fluff. I don't think I'll ever go back to watching* "TV".

There was an article the other day saying "...Singapore...has the highest per capita incidence of peer-to-peer infringement of English-language TV shows in the Asia-Pacific region".

Kinda answers the "How's that censorship and lack of choice thing working for ya?" question.

Well, Singapore also has one the highest density of people who can afford broadband.

Censorship is for political stuff.

Lack of choice, still there.

OK so there's two threads going on here, American TV shows (Looney Tunes, The Monkees, etc.) and American series (like HOB and others, Homeland, etc.)

The former will result in quite a long list, the latter, what some of us are currently watching (or will be, thanks Naka for Community, will check that out).
