Hi,

Been reading the forum for a couple of months now but only today I decided to register myself. I'm relocating to Singapore from UK at end of Jan and I've been resorting to this forum (among other things) for information about relocation, cost of living and general advice (pretty good I have to say!).

I thought I would introduce myself, apologies if this is not the right forum to do so though :)

I'm originally from Argentina and moved to London 7+ years ago. Work in banking (IT) and got offered a role iwith one of the big 4. Very much looking forward to it!

Cheers

Thanks! What about you? Where are you originally from and how long have you been in Singapore?

I was going to make a silly joke about knowing the back doors but I'm too new to be rude - need to behave otherwise I'll give the wrong impression :)

With that sense of humour I think you and SMS will get on like a house on fire   [/jk]

Meanwhile, congratulations on your posting, your life must feel like a bit of a whirlwind right now. Good luck with your packing!

Yep, the crusty old curmudgeon thinks he'll make a good addition to the motley crew we have here. But, I'm partial to the eagles. ;-) OSOD has been here only a little less than myself (one decade shy). But we have a lot of contenders/pretenders here as well!

Hey Lynx, I represent that remark! :

There is a heap of knowledge on this board. There is just about somebody for everybody here and the search function on this board is amazing as well.

hahah :D

yep I still haven't got my head round the fact that I'm relocating, or maybe it would be more correct to say that I'm not fully conscious of what it entitles. I'm currently focusing on wrapping things up on this side and I'm getting very excited about the prospects of travelling in Asia and the adventure that living in a different continent would represent.

Hopefully I won't have to ask too many questions and by the looks of it there is a wealth of really good information already in the forum which is of great help. Maybe I'll be a contributor sooner than I expect :)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome in advance!

Be ready to pack on a few pounds as you get to know and experience the food here.

I was actually hoping to shed off some weight considering I'm leaving lard island behind. :o

don't worry you can bank on losing at least 1kg a month from sweating... so you're only allowed 1kg gain from food. otherwise like everyone else here... get running!
