Singapore Expats

Hi all,

I will submit my PR application in April 2013.

Below are my details,

Malaysian Chinese (Female), Single, 24yrs old
Bachelor Degree holder(Computer Science)
My situations:
First job worked as Admin assistant in SG since Aug 2011 and held WP
Second job worked as Junior Designer in SG since Mar 2012 and held S Pass
Third job worked as System Administrator in SG since Sep 2012 and held EP which will expire in 2014. I changed to System Administrator because my second job company faced financial problem and i was forced to change job
Annual income over 22K
Not pay income tax yet and get exempted in 2012
Need to pay income tax in April 2013

I am wondering about my chances for getting PR because i changed 3 jobs within one and half year.

Seeking comments from the seniors here.

In my opinion, your nationality and race (Malaysian/Chinese) is a plus. Your degree seems ok but it also depends on where you got your degree. But your salary is quite low and the number of years you are working in Singapore is small. To increase your chances, you can also wait until you have 3 income tax returns. But since PR application is free, just give it a shot and let us know the results.

EP Q1, Working in IT industry
Lenght of stay in Singapore : 5 years

My thoughts? You are still on a Q pass after 5 years.

Yes. First year when i started working here, I was holding S pass. From Second year onward, i have been holding EP Q1.

What are the chances of a couple both on P1 (8000+ salary) after 1 year stay in Singapore.
Education – Engineering Graduates (BE)
Nationality – Indian
No Kid
Age – 30 both

You both have excellent profile, the only hindrance are race and duration of stay. I would suggest wait for 1 more year. There are 2 advantages if you do so.
1) Duration wise you will be much better
2) 1 yr from now, lots of Indians will be out of jobs and hence heading back, due to the impending large scale layoffs coming in the banks and their IT divisions, hence lots less Indians in the population. Read efinancials careers. Barclays is going to be the next bank thats going to do huge layoffs and those are primarily targeted at Asia.

In fact at the moment ICA is holding on to the approvals for PRs for historically record durations, inspite of number of applications diminishing. In 2008 when record number of applications and approvals happened, PRs used to be given out in 3 weeks flat! Now its taking more than 7 months. Why? They just want to see how many people will really last in this country for that long.

My application was rejected 4 time before
I'm working in Singapore since 2006,
Im from India completed my BE and holding EP with a salary of 4000$ and my also working and earning 3000$ and my son is going for Play grp now
advice me the chances of getting PR this year

Zero. Okay, 99.999% no. If you have already been rejected 4 times it doesn't look good.
