Hi there,
I'm a 31/F/European and looking for a good club for Hip Hop music. So far, I haven't found anything good. Seems like Singapore is more about House and Electro.
Who can give me an advice?
Thanx!

Yep, good call!
I hadn't imagined that there would be ANY market for hip-hop in SG. But there are two clubs at Clarke Quay alone!? I stand very much corrected.
Nope

Well...I have been to both clubs and it's definately NOT Hip Hop or R'n'B. It's rather playing charts...and some songs happen to be a little bit like Hip Hop.
I know we are not in NY but even in my country they play more Hip Hop.
It really seems like Singi isn't da place for it at all..which is a bit frustrating if you really like that kind of music.
Anyhow..it is what it is.
hip hop is alive!!

Which clubs play charts or more hip hop than the others? Rebel and Arena?

In all honesty I'm not quite sure what passes as true HipHop these days, rock/metal is more what I'm on the lookout for...but I'm aware of a few nights at the Butter Factory that advertise themselves as being HipHop. Check out
http://www.thebutterfactory.com/ quite a nice venue, I especially like the smaller room.

If you're looking for rock music, there are two names I can think of. JJs and Prince of Wales. I have not been there yet but I will soon

Just found out about them from friends and fellow posters not long ago so I'm itching to check them out.
There is a band called The Heritage who plays at JJs regularly. I hear that they cover awesome rock songs from the good old days.
Sorry to hijack this thread. Thought I may throw in some pub names for chuckd to consider checking out. In fact, I'm supposed to update this in the other rock pubs thread.
