Hi,

Would anyone interested in forming a cooking/eating club? This probably sounds weird, but I love cooking and don't have anyone to cook for!

I'm looking to make new friends and feed them getting a group together who would either love to cook or pitch money for ingredients, help pick out a menu, eat the delicious food made and help clean up afterwards.

I like cooking and I cook for my current gf.
But I really do not understand how this "club" can work.
Let's just share some recipes on the forum - that's more viable.

How about cooking workshops and whatnot?

Strange to want to find "somebody to cook for" that just sounds....well, y'know...

I like to cook too, even though actually my skills and recipe sets are quite mediocre. But still, give me a recipe and the tools, I can definitely do it.

But frankly speaking, in a city where most rented house's landlords only want "Light-Cooking Only!" even though they have a beautiful kitchen, it's kinda hard to get together and cook like that, Rosana.

If you do want this to happen, whose kitchen are we going to use for each meeting?

If she has a kitchen and wants people to come over, then why wouldn't it work? It's like a mini stay-in party, with the meal part sorted.

Oh god. Looking for a place that allows full cooking was a challenge. The "light cooking allowed" honestly drove me up the wall!

But lecurly is right (thanks btw for the heads up on Clarke Quay!). I guess it would work like mini-pot luck parties except that those who don't want to cook just have to pitch in for the ingredients.

The place I'm staying at allows for full cooking. But my friends, unfortunately, are either traveling for work or are health buffs (who refuse to eat anything but boiled chicken or sweet potatoes) so there are very little opportunities to really go all out and make a meal.

I am happy to offer my kitchen for use and even have a dishwasher to dump all the dirty dishes! Of course, I don't stay in a palace, so it might make sense to have a reasonable number of people in the kitchen.

I cooked all the time and am happy to exchange some tips as well as learn new techniques. Most of my dishes are european food since I have a super fussy husband who has not "localized" yet.

So would you like to organize a club meetup at your place or something, GND?

I uses to cook and bake a lot. Do we meet u at someone's house and bring something? Like a pot luck? Take turns?
