What kind of drivel is this? I always find it funny when people have job titles like "coach, personal excellence"

Btw, anyone had the misfortune to experience the new short they are showing in the cinemas by the gahmen, sth along the lines of "they say we are the unhappiest people..." and then trying to disprove this and other points.

A reminder??? Why would I need a reminder FFS?

"At any point, there's certain moments when we feel unhappy. It's only because there's certain things that are not addressed. So after identifying what is it that's making you feel unhappy, then take the actions to address them."

So there you have it - that's all there is to being happy. Brilliant. All those high paid therapists can be fired now.

I fear for the future of this country, a society that has to be told how to do everything by the gahmen, including being 'reminded' to be happy.

It's like the famous sculptor being asked how he goes about making a beautiful woman statue from a slab of stone. "I simply remove everything that does not look like a beautiful woman." :D (or something like that, I forgot the exact quote.)

And yeah - I was looking for that SH ad. Forgot it was SH not gahmen.

And happiness is definitely poorly correlated with smiling all the time, like they show it in that disgustingly retarded "Chasing happiness" TV show which won some prizes recently.

would be better if the video didnt start with " a global survey ranked singapore....blah blah.." it just sounds defensive. they must follow the coca cola happiness commercials instead.

Oh yes, great success for that ad campaign!

If the government have to run *TV ads* (at taxpayers expense) telling you to be happy, then you know you have a problem; with either happiness, OR the government!

I love that ad! +1

They chose the best bunch of people in the world to demonstrate how pure happiness can be expressed from just simple and random stuff. Something you really can't see here.

Well, interesting. Not least because it presents SGns as everything that they (mostly) are not - publicly fun-loving, care-free, and gracious, yah right.

Oh and the end bit, banners thrown down outside a building. That's illegal.... lol

It really pains me to watch this one when going to the cinema... I had to watch it twice already, two times more than good for anyone.

I think this attempt can be summarized as follows:
1) Statistics are published that show that Singaporeans are unhappy etc.
2) Produce video with people who are paid to be happy etc.
3) .... ??? (Certainly no profit.)

Well, to be fair, I would just say that this ad is brilliant from the standpoint of a company trying to capitalize on the public sentiment of an allegation made against a nation, by disproving it. Surely for a true blue Singaporean, this ad will strike the right note on the face of the allegations. So to that extent the ad is brilliant.

Its not a happiness video, per se. Its just getting back at those who made those allegations, whether its true or not is a different matter. Its kind of riding on the patriotism sentiment.
