Singapore Expats

Experts,

I am Indian holding PR since May 2010.Sal that time 5.5k+
I got married in Sep 2010 & applied PR for my wife(Indian) and got rejected after 9 months.

My sal has been raised to 7.2 K & My wife has completed her master's degree(MCA)
We applied again in Dec 2012 for my wife & daughter(2 years).

Pending for 7 months, what are the approval chances ?

When you received your previous rejection, did the letter suggest that you reapply after a certain amount of time, or did it just state that you were welcome to continue working on your existing EP?

2nd part Was not stated to apply after n months.

1. Salary topped up and better company
2. My wife has completed her master's and started job search (was working in India before marriage and has resigned her job and came to Singapore after marriage).

That's their subtle of telling you that barring policy changes, you most probably won't become PRs.

1 --> "better" company doesn't directly benefit Singapore. So does your salary.
2 --> A master's degree is a dime a dozen now and its value very much diluted. Moreover, your wife doesn't have a job. No economic benefit to Singapore.

Prepare for the worst.

^^^^ What he said. But you never know - if you prepare for bad news, you just might possibly be pleasantly surprised. Probably best to adopt that approach, but in any case, please update this thread when you hear the outcome. All info of this kind is potentially useful for other people in the future.

Im in 3rd year as PR. Suppose if my wife gets PR (sponsored by me), will it be valid for 2 years / 5 years ?

Currently it will be renewed or given for a period of 5 years. It will not "tied" to your REP but will be an independent PR REP. However, there are rumours that the REP will be reduced to 3 years but at the moment it is still 5 years.
