Singapore Expats

Hi all,

In response to a grouse StevieW and I had raised in an earlier post, I'm organizing a meetup for old and new members this weekend (and hoping people will come support!).

Let's go to Singapore's historic Arab Street neighbourhood. We can first get dinner at my favourite restaurant there: Cafe Le Caire (www.cafelecaire.com, 39 Arab St +65 6292 0979). The food is seriously yummy, and the prices are insanely cheap by Singapore standards. There's no alcohol, but there is shisha.

For drinking and dancing (and shisha too) we'll head over to Blu Jaz Cafe for their spectacular monthly Rewind party (Facebook invite here: www.facebook.com/events/157739141086594/ )

So just to recap:

What: Forumites gathering
When: Saturday, Sept. 7. Starts at 7PM.
Where: Let's gather at the entrance of Blu Jaz Cafe at 7PM as the restaurant can be tricky to find. Latecomers head over directly.

If you'd like to come, please send me a text/Whatsapp with your name and the number of people you're bringing (if any) so I will know to wait for you, and also it will help in getting a table.

New to Singapore, arrived Monday from UK. Went to a 'ladies night' last night which was fun but need friends!
I'm 29 (nearly 30)!!!
I'm up for this event 7.30pm Sat.
Still in a hotel near Clarke Quay so not too far. Visiting condos later- so any tips on that front also really appreciated (I'll be working on Alexandra road).

Fantastic. From the responses to this thread and DMs to me, we now have a group of 6, plus whoever MitulP brings. Keep it coming, guys.

Headcount now 8+. Also, a friend of mine has invited a few of her friends too, so it should be a pretty fun night.
