Facial or not?

I have had many bad experiences at facial salons where they gave me painful treatments by pressing my nose..
I had not been to one since in 5 years, so I try facials again? I would like to try one that is relaxing and great for the skin (no painful squeezing) and of cos, not too expensive, anyone can share any experiences or great places?

well, i too have tried a few and have had bad experiences...leaving me walking out of the salon, red faced or sometimes bruised. however i have been going to body contours and they seem to do a good job. you may want to give them a try, eh..

I go to my beautician at Commonwealth for my facials. They don't believe in painful pressing of pimples. If you like you can call her at 90075057 for appointment. Just let her know that Cathy introduce. She might be able to give you a discount if she wants to.

Hi Facial
Your bad expereince might be due to your skin condition is not good.
the first time i started facial i was acne prone skin
oh .. the lady actualli do the pressing "which is call extraction"
if dun clear all your breakout at the moment,
then no matter how u facial oso useless wor.
proper procedure in facial if the salon know that u r acne skin or breakout,
its their job to do extraction.
No Pain is bluff .. .
extraction no matter using hand or machine there are sure some pain.
but think of it,
after extraction, your skin will definatly be smoother
then then the beautician can proceed with the next step on the next treatment will be better...
if u are not acne prone skin now, hmm will be lesser extraction..
it depends on the salon too ..
example: FIL skin and body care (www.fil.com.sg)
they promised no swelling after extraction ..
they are detail in extraction too ...
hmm...
a lot lah ..
to me i went to a few salon facial, some cheap one actually very "fu yan"
superficial ...
u must be careful
better thr words of mouth
ultimately decision is your..

Personally, even though extraction is associated with pain (there'll be at least some pain, but depends on your tolerance level), that's one of the reasons I go for facial regularly (used to). I still think trained beauticians are more skilful in terms of extracting (unless you're a trained one too, practice makes perfect). For my case, my nose is always "congested" with lotsa blackheads and white ones. The being-squeezed parts will be reddish and a little swelling after the extraction. The next day, my face will return to normal and you can feel the nose tip is smooth. Hurray!
It really depends on the beautician's skills on extracting. So can't conclude by the salon alone if they provide good extraction services. I ever came across a beautician who can excel in extraction on my face without me feeling very painful (bear in mind that my pain threshold is rather low and tears start to well in eyes for most of my facial sessions). She even explained to me why. I've forgotten the routine she had done, but roughly remember her telling me that she's hydrated my nose and face while pores have been opened up, hence the easier and less painful the extraction. Think she steamed my face and did a facial treatment (using a machine, where before machine being worked on my face, water is being applied on). This machine treatment is claimed to thoroughly cleanse my long-never-been-washed face which are clogged with dirt and sebum perhaps (my face is of combinational type).

I'm not a professional so correct me if my discription is wrong.
The usual double cleansing(first by oil base cleanser to deep cleanse, then by another cleanser), then exfoliation mask, followed by extraction, ends by toning & moisturing. No steaming because according to her, the opening up of pores can be a prelude to open pores. She is also beautician trainer so I'm confident of her skills. There are other more complicated treatments but this is the basics that I go for.
