Hi there,

We are an Australian family relocating to Singapore on a long-term basis. My husband and I are planning to undergo IVF treatment while we are there. What's the cost involved for us? The company will pay medical insurance but I don't think it will cover IVF. In Australia, the cost would be around AUD7000 for three cycles.

Also, does any aussie mom have experience giving birth in Singapore? If so, what's it like? And how is the cost for new born treatment covered? A further complication for us is that the company med insurance only covers SGD$5000 for newborn baby treatment (1-14 days) whereas in Aus it costs us nothing. Is there additional insurance we can take out to cover the baby for the first 14 days or would everyone (mom & bub) be better off giving birth in Sydney.

You can get in touch with Raffles hospital or the fertility clinic at NUH. It is about 12-16k and I think that only covers one cycle. You need to redo all tests, as they like making money. Also, a psychological evaluation is needed (which is beyond offensive).

Welcome to Singapore.
