I bought some time ago from Amazon.uk an air purifier (brand new). Today I got this:

As someone who owns Fellowes PlasmaTrue Medium..., can you help this fellow customer?

Is this because I live in Singapore?

I bought something from Amazon with no direct shipment option to Singapore so I am using one of these companies to ship from US address to SG. They use DHL. Now I started to think whether DHL kind of decided to compete with speedpost or is there something I miss? The parcel arrived yesterday in HK and then this is what happened according to the tracking record:

I had a shipment coming from Shepler's in the US as as well recently (November) and it came the same way from the US. Don't remember now if they shipping DHL or another courier.

I could understand (hardly but still) of it going from HK to Korea as a mid stop to SG but back to the States? A system error of some sort?

Sorry, x9200, as an aside, is there a particular reason you order from Amazon UK, as opposed to Amazon US? Wouldn't the Amazon US price generally be lower?

Amazon.US did not sell it with the shipping directly to SG at the time I bought it. All together It was cheaper to buy it from UK and much much faster (delivery within 3-4 days). I believe it was even cheaper than using these virtual shopping/shipping services (delivery via US address).

Yes, I noticed Amazon US doesn't ship a lot of items to Singapore. Bit of a bummer that.

Shipping from UK is an interesting subject on its own. It is not that expensive for small items at all. I buy a lot from Ebay and if I want things to be delivered reliably and fast I'd rather buy the stuff from an UK seller than from China or HK. I am talking about things like minor electronics, small parts etc. From UK it takes typically <10 days, from CN and HK it's a pure lottery. It can take 10 days but more often in the 20 to 45 range. At the same time very few US sellers offer reasonable postal rates to SG.

I don't remember the last time I bought something of Ebay. Few bites, shy now.
I buy from both Amazon UK & US constantly, at least once a month. UK site is much quicker and more can be shipped out compared to US.
When the haze was really bad, I bought the air purifiers from UK site and came 3days later and the masks too.
And recently with a nits scare, I bought some nits comb from UK site too. I didn't realise that SG do not sell nits comb.
I went to a pet shop and bought something similar

Yep, I bought the air purified from Amazon exactly at that time. Quick and not to mentioned the prices for some local equivalents (if one was lucky to find any in stock) was 2-3x higher.

I also order from amazon.com (you get free shipping if you order for more than S$125, if you clicked the box that the item must qualify for free shipping and the seller is amazon.com), however last time I ordered a CatGenie (self-cleaning cat toilet) but I couldn't get it to work here. Every single time I would plug it in it would cause a power blackout. Had anyone have the same experience?

If you ordered it from the US Amazon, was it designed for US 110-115V or for Singapore 220-240V or is it dual voltage. If US 110-115V that is what is causing your have a power trip. If 220-240V then I don't know.
