This forum is so helpful, want to share with you my profile after SPR approval:

Race: Indian, age >40
Wife not working, Master Degree
Annual package: ~90 K
Two kids(boys <10 yrs)
Education: Bachelore Degree

In 2006 applied with wife+ son, got more questions from ICA about employment details, could not provide due to nature of job(Q pass).

Left country in 2007(again due to nature of job).

Came back again with famil in 2009 (P pass).

Due to unsettled tax issue, which was pending since 2006, stopped at airport and not to leave the country.(issues got complicated with IRAS). Later similar issue happend again :( in the year 2011.

Applied PR with wife alone again in 2012, got rejected with in 3 months.

Applied with wife+ sons, got approval with in 4 months.

My point is, even with many disadvantages our SPR got approved in January 2014.

When we applied the last time, whatever the negative points we had, we tried to explain in our covering letter and we put everything in an open manner and trustfully answered all our negative issues.

Hope this helps somebody out there, who is looking for a solution under similar situation.[/b]

There is one other piece of data that, upon reflection, we have not be getting and which probably also has a very strong influence on the outcome of a PR application and that is the industry/position the applicant is in. We do know that they maintain a list of "desirable" skillsets/industries which changes on an "as needed" basis.

That not withstanding, congratulations are in order, especially for perseverance. I reckon that they must have figured you really want it if you continued to try after have a go-round with IRAS 2x and still applied again. ;-)
