Singapore Expats

Hi can anyone help, my family are moving over to Singapore july 05 , we have 2 children who will need school places and have been advised to apply to Tanglin school, (knowing nothing about it though) but we know there are no places available, does anyone locally know of a school for sixth formers to study uk A levels and of a british curriculum school for an 11 year old.we intend to organise housing re schools,so with no housing or school places it all seems a bit daunting. as we will live according to the schools i guess...any ideas
Also do most expats live in codos or houses and generally in what areas , Hubby in center and schools??

My uncle & family were relocated a year ago. Their kids are at United World College. Think it's costly for fees - but he says it's the BEST thing he's ever done. They're getting over 90% everytime in tests. The kids are aged 12 and under. They live in district 9 or 10 (can't remember which one) & they LOVE it.

Forgot to add, don't think they got into UWC straight away as there is usually a waiting list. However, they were put on the list & placed in another school until an opening came their way. So do your homework on the schools & list their names for the time being.

My kids in Years 5 and 10 have just joined Tanglin in january and are very happy. The curriculum is not as challenging as a British selective independent school but its quite decent for an International School

UWC and ISS have British based programs. I think OFS may have it too.
