Singapore Expats

Hi - we may be moving to Singapore from Sydney and wanted to check what High schools offer the NSW curriculum? I can only find two schools AIS and the Integrated International School. My son will be going into year 6 and my daughter into year 8. Any advice on this and living on Sentosa much appreciated.

Yes - that's all the schools that offer it. It is not a popular curriculum. If you don't like those schools look at the IB curriculum which is now accepted in Australia I believe.

Sentosa sucks - you have to go through multiple entry gates/security, no shops within walking distance and those schools are a heck of a long way away with no bus. You need a car ($$$$). Live on the main island with the rest of us plebs.

Rubbish.....Our kids catch the bus from Sentosa to the AIS. It's a door to door service, about a 40 minute each way.

And my Aussie mate has his wife walk his kids to AIS. Which do you want OP? 40 mins is 80 mins a day.

Hey Tracey Turk - we are arriving next month and my son will also be in year 6 (I have another in year 3). We're from Sydney too.

I thought AIS looked OK, and one of my son's (Sydney) classmates went there for a year and told him the canteen was really good

I'm not worried about the NSW/Australian curriculum - if your expat package includes school fees (ours doesn't) my top pick is UWC Dover - great academically, and their extra-curricular program seems much bigger and better supported than AIS (for example, they host swim & basketball squads on their grounds, have a jazz band and orchestra etc.).
