Are there recommendations for a nice Service Apartment centrally located that feels like home? Asking for a friend who's seeking a long term stay of one to two years (3 bedrooms).

There's a relatively new Novotel in Claymore. Pan Pacific and Frasers are two others (various locations), although I don't know if all of these have three bedrooms. I think Orchard Scotts (Newton) also has short-term rentals (larger units but may be older).

Also, at one point availability at all of these places was very tight (and rates very high). Not sure if that has eased.

One other option is Wilby Residences on Bukit Timah Road (between Sixth Avenue and King Albert Park), not sure if this qualifies as centrally located though (more of a residential area). Some of the units have been renovated recently and cost wise is almost certainly cheaper (if that's a factor).

There is one called Great World City Service Apartment. It is in the city center and is connected to mall, supermarket and Subway station. I stayed there when I came first to Singapore 7 years before.

I know several people from my office who have stayed at Great World, usually in the first months or last months of their stay here. Haven’t heard any complaints.

She's terrified of nasty landlords so would prefer to rent through an operator.

Outside of exact location (transport, amenities), the biggest thing is the condition of the unit. Some of these companies/brands tend to be OK (here and elsewhere), but it varies based on age/when the property was last renovated. Ideally, they should go look at the specific units that are available (also relevant if facing/view is important).

I personally like the Ritz Carlton Residences along Cairnhill.

Have a friend living at Orchard Scotts. It's gorgeous, and very well maintained as you might imagine.

I live close by and love the area, but honestly don't consider it central. City is easily accessible, provided you drive.

Very convenient, but I find it too hectic. Never have a moment of quiet.

Agree. Not a quite place. It depends on which life style you may want to pursue. When I was stying there, I used to run along the Singapore River in the early morning to the Sand when all business is still not open. If you are working in CBD and the office is equipped with shower room, you may go to office by run or cycling. One of my friend get settled in the condo Centennia next to GWC after 3 months stay.

Not sure there are very many offices here with showers that are open to employees, but if that's an option, it's certainly a good idea. Great way to stay fit and save money.
