Hi,

Is there anyone here starting his/her training on 1 Feb? I got an email stating that mine will begin on 1 Feb, batch 903!

I'm a guy and wondering if we can wear just polo t-shirt/short sleeve shirt and jeans/pants for training or must wear corporate ie. long-sleeve shirt, tie and pants only. Apparently the email included the grooming standard stating that males are only allowed to wear corporate attire during training. Before I go off and get more ties (I have enough long-sleeve shirt and pants already), I thought I better check if the rules are relaxed for training.

That means formal dress, best go and get those ties.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted to find out if they relax the rules during training and that it is only on paper that you gotta wear formal.

Anyways, anyone else on here starting their training on 1 Feb?

Hi, I went for the 12 November interview at Sheraton Towers Singapore. Were you there as well? I remember there were many guys at that interview. I wonder how the other guys fared and if they got the same training dates as me.

Whats the point of putting it on paper then if its otherwise?

he just wants to know if there`s room for "slacking off" a little from the rules, that`s all. and i think he wants to know if anyone is in the same batch as him too.

He's not and which school did you attend may i ask? UWC, SAS, or OFS! Oh no, I'm going to get flamed, i can see it coming.

Just joking guys, it reminds me of this new officer from Sandhurst, who arrived at the cavalry, troop unit, and asked why all the troopers, were standing around doing nothing. One trooper replied, holding a bedford starting handle in his hand, " Well sir, we cannot get this fcuking tank to start up" and he, the Officer replied "Give me that starting handle and let me have a go" Oh well, think about it!

Flyguy don't forget to do everything by the book, ok! by numbers, and say sir all the time! That's the way they like it, regimental and that's no bull

well i would just like to let him know that rules are there for a reason too. 1 tip when starting out on a job, follow the rules till you're there long enough to know when you may bend it. why start thinking about bending the rules before knowing clearly what they are? in sia, there are a LOT of rules.

well i think it was just an excuse to start this topic, more like he wants to find fellow batch mates! but nothing wrong with that too, really.

no i didn`t attend any of the International Schools. got friends from there but i attended local govt schools.

the dress code for guys during training would be a long sleeve shirt,working pants and a tie. Only during your SEP training then you can wear polo shirts
