condos near Science Park

Hi all....I'm looking for some
condo recommendations if you don't mind. I'll be working in Science Park and our children will hopefully be attending the new ER
International School on Ulu Pandan. I realize there are a lot of
condos in this vicinity but I'm dealing with a relatively small budget and need a 3br for under $3000. I plan to take bus 92 to work and the kids will take the same bus to school. Would also like to be near a Cold Storage or Fair Price.
Some of the top choices I've come up with are Heritage View and Dover Parkview but those might be just out of our price range. I don't mind to stay farther away such as West Coast, Upper Bukit Timah or Harbourfront as long as public transport doesn't become a huge pain.
We lived in Singapore from 2000-2003 and stayed at Springdale on Upper Bukit Timah so I'd prefer a chance of scenery from that area.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

You can also stay in west coast crescent/pasir panjang area. There're lots of
condos in Pasir Panjang area and in west coast crescent there're 3
condos: Blue Horizon, West Cove & West Bay. Behind Blue horizon is West Coast Park, it's a huge park and has 24hr Mc Donalds. I live in Blue Horizon, quite nice, however the rent price is hiking these days..., maybe bcoz of the market. 2 years ago I rent my 3 BR condo for 2k, now they're asking around 3k-3.5k for the same unit.

I was getting offered 3-br units in Blue Horizon last week between 2.5 and 3.0k but in the end it's wasn't the place for me.

wow you're having a good deal for the amount, as i'm moving out (my husband transfrred to Jakarta) the agent showing my unit said the market is abot 3.5-4 k (which I don't believe...

I ended up getting a nice 4-br in a CCK
condo for 2.8k so while it is a bit further out there it's right on the MRT, something the Blue Horizon and those around it is not.
Don't believe everything the agent is telling you

You're right scoobidoes, can't believe everything agents told us.
In Blue horizon, specially tower C facing the west coast park is so hot bcoz of afternoon sun & also incredibly very very very noisy, as the westcoast highway is very busy with the containers & trucks, almost 24/7 so I always turn on my aircon.
One of the agent showing my unit to prospective tenants told them it's only during peak period which I know exactly not true....
But what can I say?
However, back to Blue horizon, eventhough it's far from MRT, there's shuttle bus to Clementi MRT ($70/3 mths/household). Not bad, specially for me to go to the market, bank etc.
I also seen science park bus in the market near my place, but don't know the exact route.

To be honest the agent is telling the truth, it's only during peak hours.....
The problem is that with the PSA port just along the road peak hours are 24/7. McD's in the park is open 24hrs for a reason!

Cool... thanks to all for the input.
Sawasdee, at the risk of asking a silly question, are you Thai? My wife is Thai...

Hi Second Time Round ,,
What a coincidence !! yes, I'm Thai,came here since 2004.
So you probably understand Thai, I guess.
Anyway for the
condo, it locate at the end of the road throgh SC 1. If you don't mind that it's a bit isolated you can consider. My colleague he rents at 1350 for 3 BD but I don't think this price is valid anymore.
Cheers

Cool....I understand some Thai, yes. Trying to learn more to keep up with our daughters.
I'll definitely look into Normanton. Sounds like it would be very convenient to where I'll be working.
Thanks for the tip! Khap khun khrap!
