I am moving to singapore for a period of 4 to 6 months on a project. I am gonna be going to Singapore for the 1st time, so not aware of the places.

My work location would be closer Shenton Way.

I am pretty much aware that Singapore is expensive in terms of stay.
My company would not be providing accommodation, as i am gonna be for there for a long term project.

What i need is some advice on the staying.

1. Should i be going for servicce apartment or Homestay?what are my other options?
2. Reasonable price which can be paid for a Service Apartment or a Homestay (Single/double bedroom) for a period of 4 to 6 months
3. Are there any such stay options available nearby to the work place?

Cheers

IMHO, i will go for a Service Apartment, unless you are not bother about cooking or doing your own dirty clothes (and with the hot weather you will have lots of them!), then your option is long stay hotel.

i have done the hotel option as i was flying all over the world, from a couple of weeks to months. i miss cooking my own food, even as simple as a fried egg. the laundry at the hotel for my 10 years old underwear cost the same as a new pair of prada underwear! :P

most apartments/condos rental are long term as minimum contract for utility, fones, broadband, etc are 12-months.
