All the international kindergartens I’ve popped in to see i.e.: UWC, Tanglin, CIS and Eton House are quite rigid with their attendance structures. I only need my son to attend school 2 maybe 3 days a week. Does anyone know of kindergartens that offer more flexibility?

Why would you think your child only needs to attend 2 or 3 times a week?

shiggins, perhaps you're confusing Kindergarten with Pre-school? Kindergarten might be a shortened school day, but it's usually 5 days a week. It has much more of a solid curriculum (seems silly to use that word) than a pre-school.

Rosemount Kindergarten in Siglap offers flexible attendance, at least through the K2 level (i.e. up to about the age of 5), and that's why I chose that school.

Shiggins, you are mistaking this forum site for one that actually helps people. The Reporters, Managers and Moderators who run this site just go through peoples threads and posts ripping them to pieces and putting on snide remarks like the reply you got. I see this on probably 70% of the threads on this site.

I would like to find somewhere to take my child maybe one or two mornings a week so I can have a break and get things done like go to the gym or dentist for example (I don't have a maid or family here who can help) but I wouldn't dare ask the question on here as I'll be just ripped to bits for being a bad mother.

It is actually a valid question because not all children from different countries begin regular schooling systems at age 5, which is what is labeled as "kindergarten". In Nordic countries,for example, kids start school around age 7.

Snowqueen - I think Pat's Schoolhouse on the East Coast will do only a couple of days a week no? If you check out central schools (preschools) - MMI, PMI, Loewen Garden, Little Hands, Little Raindrops, Kidz Station, Julia Gabriel, Pats Schoolhouse - I think most of these have flexible schedules. I know that Eton House (Orchard) requires you pay for 5 days when they are 3+ but you are not required to send them for 5 days if you do not want to. The bigger schools will be more rigid with their requirements - but may be worthwhile placing your child on the waiting list for when they are older if that is where you think you want to send them.

The australian school and avondale grammar both provide 2,3 4 per week and 5 day fortnight options for 3 to 5 year olds in line with kindergarten in Australia

I agree with the suggestions made by the above poster, Rosemount raised its fees and now charges the same fees as schools with much better facilities. One World International School also offers 2, 3, 4, or 5 days.

White Lodge (several locations), and a new one at Turf City: Swallows&Amazon.

In these places you can choose between 2-5days/week.
