Dear Parents who's kids are going to Chatsworth,

Could you please share roughly how much extra do you spend per month for other extra expenses for the school except for School Fees, transport, lunch.

The school website says tuition fee per year is 16,500 +GST from year 1-6.
What are the other Misc charges do you pay monthly ?

The only addition to the cost you mention would be the purchasing of the school uniform (including PE uniform) and payment for any class excursions as and when they occur during the school year. The only other 'monies' you could include would be some coins for your childs wallet to pay for any drinks they may want at break times.

I have 3 children, 4th, 8th, and 10th graders and looking into this school. Can anyone comment/review this school's experience?

Hi. My son has been educated in Chatsworth for eight years through Primary and into Secondary. I love the international community that makes up the school. The students study IB PYP and then a general lower Secondary programme going on to UK IGCSE's and then either the American Diploma or the IB Diploma programme. We have always been happy with the positive attitude of this school. It is student centered and the being part of such an international community is a great experience for the kids as learning about and understanding different cultures becomes part of everyday life. The building is small by comparison to other International Schools but this is actually and advantage. It is an historic building in Singapore as part of the Peranakan settlement on Emerald hill Road and therefore is protected by the Government. The building has a great history and Chatsworth itself has a fifteen year history. The academic results from Chatsworth are consistently high. All sports events can be held in school but they also use outside facilities as do other schools. Hope this gives a little helpful info.

I would like to seek more advise on the IB system in Chatsworth. For Primary years the subjects they teach are maths, English, Mandarin only. And also other subjects like music/PE/Arts.

In which age do they teach Science?

Also I noticed that Year 1 is for kids who are 5 years old. But in schools like UWC their year 1/Grade 1 is when the kid is 6 years.
Does this mean the kids who go to Chatsworth starts early ?

Hello again, I think you are getting a little confused. Not all school use the same terminology for their grading and I suspect you are using the American system as a guide. In Chatsworth the grading system is more like the British one but the school teaches the International Baccalaureate teaching system. Year 1 means child must be 5 by the start of Septemeber. ALL subjects are taught withing the framework of the PYP which is an excellent teaching system Check the school website it has all the curriculum information on it and you can direct questions to them. chatsworth.com.sg then go to the Primary portal. Think this will answer your questions.

Yes, the best place to find information is via the school for specific terminology and curriculum, rather than a forum.
