Hi

I am looking for mandarin class for my son, 8 years old. Do you have any recommendation? objective is to learn additional language.

I think a combination of Berries (if the child likes it), actually am not sure of their class structure and what their age group take in is like. But my friends say you need to hack it for about 5 to 6 sessions before the child will stop whining and enjoy it. my friend added on a tutor once a week and said its all pulling together for her child.

Hi! I'm a native speaker from Beijing. I think in order for your kids to get interested in another language, the best is to show them something that appeals to them in that langauge. For instance, show them their favourite TV shows/cartoons in Mandarin (if available). If you just throw them into some mandarin classes and ask them to learn, they'll probably hate it. If they have friends who speak Mandarin, they can learn from their friends too!

i engaged a billingual tutor previously for my child. She used word cards and games to engage my 2 kids. She also taught them chinese phonics which i felt is extremely useful in mastering the language. you might want to try contacting her at 83933855(Amanda).
