Hello - my husband and I are relocating from Sydney, Australia to Singapore in October 2013.
My eldest daughter is currently in prep (year before compulsory kindergarten) in Sydney and my youngest is due to start that in 2015.
We are looking for a good
International School for the elementary stages as we will likely be in Singapore for at least 5 years.
We are currently looking to reside in the Orchard area and will not have a car so have looked online at the Overseas Family school and the International Singapore school. We are not particular on following an Australian curriculum and wouldn't mind the IB program.
Does anyone have a recommendation? It would be most appreciated....

OFS moves to Pasir Ris soon, certainly in the timeline you are talking to, if your kids are at Pasir ris for school, trust me, you do not want to be living in Orchard, it's halfway across the island!
Have a look at Chatsworth too, they are full IB.
Consider somewhere outside Orchard to live as well, I have never understood the appeal of having a million malls around you to be honest.

Use the search function on the board. There is lots of discussion on
International Schools. I would say, pick your school first, then pick your location. Though most children can go by bus to most schools on the Island.

OFS is on a very crowded campus, which is why they want to more. I don't think they have even started building yet, so you would be a few years in the city then out to Pasir Ris. Other schools to look at are the Canadian School, there is a German school (that teaches classes in English) Stanford American School is another one.

They are firing up the
condos near where OFS is gonna be located like they are going out of style. There is another one being launched very soon.
I think its called Vue8.
I guess they will start building the school so they can time the opening so that the
condo's will be full of potential students and their families.

Hi,
My daughters attend Nexus
International School which I highly recommend. It is located at Pandan Valley near Holland Village (District 21) and there are lots of public buses from Orchard area which will take approx. 20 minutes.
Hope this helps!
