Re: today is the last day for topping up CPF/SRS and Jan 1 is the first day to top up again

Yes Mal. There is a way of beating it but it's messy. That was revealed to me when I reviewed my yearly statement and that is that bonuses from your employer are CPF liable above that ceiling. As they are not "ordinary wages". As a result of that my total contributions exceeded the 37,740 cap by ab...

Re: MOM approving Maid application for expats?

It seems many employers are giving helpers higher pay to retain them as helpers are getting competing offers from expats. Is this okay with MOM?

Or are you having to put up with trivial subordinate bullshit? It is more of bullshit by a teammate who has not got promotion for ye...

Here is another theory which is floating around The idea that the pilot had planned on flying for 7-odd hours over air spaces of several countries and somehow manage to avoid detection is preposterous. No plan is ever made assuming a series of blunders by various countries. Here is what I believe ha...

Thank you Beeroclock. INR is getting strong from past few weeks but with fed cutting stimulus, my guess it will get weak when FII's start pulling back their money. Its safe to keep money in SG till that time and YES, CPF is the only safest bet which makes sense if you want to earn interest.

Dude, I've built control systems for twenty years. Indian educated engineers are exactly the sort who would argue that a positive yoke input should have a negative elevator output. We're all upset with this tragedy though and I habe a horrible feeling it will be western 'clean skin' terrorists behi...

Thank you SMS and SE. I agree CPF gives the best interest rate. Here is the ad from Stan C which talks about getting 1.88% p.a "Earn 1.88% p.a. on your savings for the first S$25,000 in your Bonus$aver account when you charge a minimum of S$500 based on transaction posting date."
