No worries, Karl. Living costs in Singapore is very manageable as long as you have a job. Food especially is cheap and they are everywhere. A decent food centre meal can be had for US$2. Good luck!

Trish, that is not true. The recruiter will bill the employer, not you. In any case, you should try both avenues to maximise your chances of finding the right job.

You need to find a teaching hospital that will give you a place in the department of your choice. Traineeship positions in O&G or Paeds have certain pre-requisites including rotation through certain posting and passing at least the first part of MRCOG or equivalent exams.

You are a local. And you are asking expatriates how to start a business in your own country ?

I have absolutely no idea about the going rates. The legal community (courts, police) uses translators quite a lot and would usually have a list of certified persons from the various embassies and consulates.

Jessie, I am not sure we have the equivalent of health visitors but give the major hospitals a shot anyway. There is a list of hospitals at www.doctors.sg . You should also look at privately run community hospitals and homes (for elderly or disabled) too.
