WOW! Congratulations SMS. Very well done, and very good news about the cholesterol and gout! (And the other things, lol!) I have been reading this thread with interest, as I have fought to lose 8 extra kg with insane amounts of exercise. I figured that I could eat whatever I wanted if I ran a few 5k...

Poor cat. :-( I recently ended up with a kitten I found in a drain. I hadn't meant to adopt it, but from looking online, it seems that most strays are put down, simply because there are too many to cope with. The Cat Welfare society are asking very kind people to catch, spay and return strays to whe...

Yes, it is good to make a start by deciding where you might be living or working. Have a good look at the Good Schools guide website or ISC's for all the schools in that area. As a South Londoner (waves across the river at MakingtheMove!) the Battersea/Dulwich/Wandsworth/Clapham/Balham areas have ma...

Hello; there are many excellent private schools in London; prep schools start from age 7 -8 (known as Year 3). Your son may be in Year 3 or Year 4, depending on his birth date. There will be a change to 'big' school at age 10-11 (at the end of Year 6) or in some boys prep schools at age 12-13 (at th...

Hi Guppus, hope you are all settled in! I hope I am allowed to post this? I can recommend Forte Musicademy for violin and they do piano and theory too. They are not in Orchard but in the Arts District near Bencoolen Street, a short drive away. I am very impressed. The standard is very high. Mrs Chan...

Thanks Glow for your advice;

My violinist son is here, my bassist son is abroad and goes to RCM on Saturdays.

I am trying a few contacts from Yong Siew Toh for my violinist, but SSO violinists must be extremely good! Lucky you! :-)

Practice hard now!

Please advise? Music schools and violin lessons in SG

Hiya, My DH is planning to move us all to Singapore in September 2011, and this forum has been a godsend! Both my boys attend the Royal College of Music in London and it is really important that they carry on with their studies. Does anyone send their kids to Tanglewood or Cristofori or Mandeville m...
