You guys might be crazy. If you've never danced salsa before, I wouldn't be so eager. Unless you are highly skilled in other dances, it would take at least 3-6 months to learn. I can't imagine a quicker way to embarass yourself than to know nothing about salsa dancing and then attempt to take a seri...

Pocket Change

I have a habit of saving pocket change. At the end the day I usually just throw my spare coins into a stand by my nightstand. When I lived in the states, I would turn this money in after a year or two and have about $100 that I could spend any way that I wanted. I've lived in Singapore for about two...

Go to an HDB, find the nearest hawker and say "Kopi." It is almost as good and four times cheaper than anything at those high price joints.

Language Center

Does anyone know where an adult can take Mandarin or Japanese classes on the Western part of the Island? Even just telling me about a good tutor would be great.
Thanks!

I teach at ICS so maybe I can answer your questions. ICS does not have an international baccalaureate program. We are an international school that has an American, Christian Evangelical curriculum. Each morning school starts with devotions and prayer and every Friday the school conducts a chapel ser...

HAWKER CENTER

I thought I would throw out a question. What is your favorite hawker center in Singapore? What do you like to eat there?

I'm going to try to make it to the 4:45 sneak peak showing at the Lido Theater on Saturday afternoon. Meet me in front of the Taco Bell at 4:30 if you are interested.

I'm sorry, but Sunday won't work for me. You will have to go on your own. I'm still open to Friday or Saturday. If anyone is interested please let me know.

Movie: Walk the Line

Is anyone interested in going to see Walk the Line this Friday or Saturday? It is a biography about Johnny Cash. I will probably try to catch it at one of the movie theaters on Orchard. I don't have a specific time and probably won't set one until Thursday night. Suggest a time and PM me if you are ...

Clean your laptop

What is the best way to clean a laptop screen? I don't want to use the wrong chemicals and discolor it. I also want to avoid scratching it.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad I did not go. I did a blog search and I only found one person (a 17 year old who sneaked in) that enjoyed it. Otherwise, the verdict comes back negative for almost everybody who attended. I did have a great time over new years. I spent the evening on a rooftop pool...

I don't know about comparisons, but if you want a small school you might try the International Community School.
