BigSis, Its interesting to read you've been here for 9 years. I've been here for 3 months and am planning for wife / kids to join as soon as we can sort out the schooling or go through the international schools waiting list. A lot of people say they can't stomach being in Singapore for more than 2-3...

I used to work in the London office, the Singapore technology presence is much smaller compared to the HKG and TKO offices and so there are not that many opportunities. Have to say that East Coast looks really nice. Like an earlier poster said, the flight path into the airport is intended to be over the sea and then into the airport and this minimises the noise. But if you live near the ECP, I suspect you will pick up the traffic noise if you have a sea-view.
