Apartment/Contract/Demolition of building

Hi everyone, I signed a 2-years-contract for my apartment last year in August. I have now been notified by the current landlord that the new owner will tear down the building and advised that I will have to move out in March 08. I wonder if I can expect any compensation. But you guys should always have in mind what comes along with the rental you are paying for your lovely condo apartments. I think an apartment with a pool and even a tennis court and gym plus gardener, security etc. would never be available in Europe for SGD 2.5k, would it?! :D Go for HDB or standar...
