I'm also dealing with a few agents at the moment. Can somebody tell me if it is standard for the tenant to have to pay commission? My understanding was that the landlord covers the commission if the rent was above $2,500.

I've been looking to rent a room in a nice condo for the last 2 weeks. To say it's been frustrating is an understatement, I've had agents/landlords not show up, not answer their phone, etc. I'm willing to pay up to SG$2500 so didn't expect any problem. I also think the main websites r very overrated...

Hi, I've recently arrived here from Ireland. It's a very impresive place but the two most expensive items are rent & alcohol. 200Euros is over SG$350 equates to 50 a day, this is enough to survive on not including any accomodation or social life! Public transport is really cheap too.
