An update for the benefit of anyone else who finds them in my situation! After chasing my agent for several weeks (even after I left Singapore) I've managed to get paid for the additional 2 weeks rent that I lost. The agent tried everything to get out of it (including hassling my landlord) but I wou...

Thanks for the replies so far. My notice was given in writing and so was the proof from my employer that I was leaving the country. My agent has finally started responding to messages again (because I threatened to report him to the CEA) - he said the delay in notifying the landlord and his agent wa...

Advice needed regarding unreliable estate agent

Hi I'm moving home to New Zealand in a few weeks and I've just run into some issues with my agent. On 16 July I have my agent the required 2 months notice to enable the diplomatic clause on my apartment lease - this means I will have to pay rent until approx. 16 September. I have just found out this...

Hi Scott

Did you manage to find anyone? 31 year old kiwi here in a similar situation - haven't picked up a racket for a while but want to get back into it.

Hi Mark

Did you end up getting a group together to play? I arrived here in Singapore just over a year ago and after a few lessons at the driving range I need to get out on the course a bit more, and eventually get myself a handicap.

Cheers

Bike shops in Singapore

I am looking at taking up cycling, so am looking at buying a new road bike. Can anyone recommend a good bike shop in Singapore? I will be looking for something around mid-range - not too cheap but not top of the range either. I've been looking at the Giant Defy 1 online, but can't seem to find anyon...

Hi Soph
River Valley is a great area - I've been here almost a year now. I find it's really central to everything - most things are pretty close by bus or taxi.
If you've got any questions about the area just shout.

I was also able to open an account on my day of arrival - Citibank were great and I had all my bank cards etc within a few hours. I just had to show my contract and used my work address until I had my own place.

Hiya

I'm in the River Valley area as well and relatively new to Singapore (arrived last May). Send me a PM if you want to catch up for a drink.
